💭 Expert Tips

  • Use Kitchen Tools For Precision: Use a candy thermometer if you need to make sure the liquid is warm enough. Also, use a sharp knife when cutting the fudge into small or large pieces.
  • Melt Fully: For best results, make sure the peanut butter and butter mixture is melted all the way, but don’t microwave it longer than that or your no-bake peanut butter fudge will become tough.
  • Be Careful: Make sure to use caution when heating the peanut butter and butter in the microwave. Don’t burn yourself!
  • Snag A Good Piece: The corner pieces are the best part!

📖 Variations

You can customize this basic recipe in so many different ways! Here are some of our favorite ways to change things up:

  • Enhance Flavors: Add some vanilla frosting if you prefer to step this recipe for microwave peanut butter fudge up a notch. You could also stir in some sweetened condensed milk for a creamy version. Don’t have ganache? Just melt some dark or milk chocolate chips (or any type of chocolate chip) and drizzle the melted chocolate over the fudge! White chocolate would also taste good here.
  • Additions And Toppings: Feel free to throw in some sea salt flakes, shredded coconut, chopped nuts, or chocolate chips to the top of the fudge for bonus flavors. This fudge would also taste good with a little brown sugar added.

🍽 Serving Suggestions

This quick dessert can be served with a simple glass of milk (or your favorite dairy-free alternative), or you can make it even more decadent with some sides or toppings.

🙌 Dietary Adaptations

  • Vegan And Dairy-Free Option: For a vegan version, you could try using vegan butter with vegan friendly sugar.
  • Keto Option: For a keto version, use powdered Swerve instead of regular sugar.
  • Peanut-Free Option: Experiment with using other nut or seed butters in this super easy pb fudge like almond butter or sunflower seed butter.
  • Reduce Sugar And Carbs: If you like a less-sweet fudge, cut the amount of sugar in half. Then each piece of fudge will only have 219 calories and 7.5 grams of sugar!

🫙 Storage Directions

  • Room Temperature: Even though fudge contains perishable ingredients (butter/dairy), the sugar helps to make the fudge more shelf stable. If you keep these peanut butter cubes in an airtight container, layered with aluminum foil or parchment paper, and keep it in a cool dark space (like a cupboard or the pantry), it will last for about 1 week at room temperature.
  • To Refrigerate: Keep the pieces of fudge in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  • To Freeze: Fudge freezes well! Just place the fudge in a freezer-safe storage container or bag and freeze for up to two to three months.

❓Recipe FAQs

Why won’t my peanut butter fudge harden?

It’s possible that the fudge mixture didn’t cook long enough! Also, make sure the fudge has had plenty of time to set in the refrigerator.

IS IT SAFE TO MELT PEANUT BUTTER IN THE MICROWAVE?

Absolutely! You may want to warm it in intervals so that you don’t overdo it, but you can definitely melt peanut butter in the microwave.

WHY IS MY PEANUT BUTTER FUDGE HARD?

Peanut butter fudge that is hard has likely been overcooked. If you’re cooking the fudge mixture on the stovetop and you cook it for too long or at too high a temperature, then it will become hard and crumbly once it’s cooled.

How can you tell if peanut butter fudge is bad?

If the fudge is bad, then it will have some discoloration.

    • Hi Sherry! To be honest, I haven’t tested this recipe with oil so I’m not sure if it would turn out well. If you do use oil, I’d recommend coconut oil since it’s not as “runny” as most other oils. If you do try it with coconut oil, let me know how it turns out!
