A few months ago, when my first cookbook launched, I had just finished making a huge batch of baby food for Ayan because he was right in the middle of starting solids. Layla actually helped me make a lot of that baby food, because as many of you know, she and I love cooking together in the kitchen.

I never thought I’d end up writing a second cookbook so soon after my first, but when the opportunity came to write a cookbook made especially for kids aged 4+, I couldn’t pass it up! I get so much joy from cooking with my daughter, that it became the inspiration for this second book.

And now I’m super excited to share that Kid Chef Junior has officially launched!

Kid Chef Junior: My First Kids Cookbook will help kids ages 4+ develop their culinary know-how as they make healthy, wholesome, “kid approved” meals―first with an adult, and eventually, all on their own!

Kids are naturally curious about what goes on in the kitchen, and are usually eager to step up to the counter themselves. One of the easiest ways to get kids to become less picky and try new foods is to have them help cook the meals you’d like them to eat!

While this book is a kids cookbook, the recipes in it are actually perfect for the whole family. Each recipe has a fun and exciting name (to be appealing to kids), but the flavors and food are actually adult friendly too. Many of the meals like: Blueberry Blast Banana Bread, Vegan French Toast Casserole, Rainbow Veggie Pinwheels, Lasagna Roll Ups, Sunshine Soup and Burrito Boats (pictured below) are ones I will often make for myself!

Inside this cookbook you’ll find:

  • Kids Cooking 101: includes age-appropriate guidance for learning to cook and tips for staying safe in the kitchen
  • 25 Creative, Yummy Recipes: for breakfast treats like Bunny Pancakes, healthy snacks like Smashed Silly Face Guacamole, family dinners like Easy Peasy Mac & Cheesy, and yummy desserts like Peanut Butter Surprise Brownies
  • Pictures of Each Recipe to help kids choose what to cook and lets them see just how great their creations will turn out
  • Places for Kids to Make the Book their Own: with space for kids to make notes on the recipes (how much they liked it, when they made it, who helped, etc.) — to turn the cookbook into their own personalized cooking scrapbook!

If you have kids, or know someone who does, Kid Chef Junior is for you. Pick up a copy today and let me know what you think!
