About Anjali Shah
Anjali Shah is a food writer, recipe developer, published author, board certified health coach, nutritionist, mom of two, and an advocate for healthy, clean eating for individuals and families.
Hi! I’m Anjali. I grew up a “whole wheat” girl, but married a “white bread” kind of guy. Hoping to prove that nutritious food could in fact be delicious and desirable, I taught myself how to cook and successfully transformed my husband’s eating habits from a diet of frozen pizzas and Taco Bell to my healthy, yet flavorful recipes made with simple, wholesome ingredients.
When I became a mom, I realized I needed to follow the same process of making healthy food taste good in order to get my two kids to eat a variety of foods – veggies included!
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley (Go Bears!) and my nutrition certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
I’m focused on teaching individuals and families how to make healthy choices, cook more at home, and pick the right foods at the grocery store. After becoming a mom, I expanded my programs to include strategies and techniques to combat picky eating in kids of all ages. I started The Picky Eater in 2011 to make healthy food accessible, tasty, easy to make at home, and picky-eater proof.
I absolutely LOVE food and I am passionate about healthy living for the whole family – including picky eaters!
