Mango Pineapple Banana Smoothie (Creamy & Healthy!)

I use mango, banana, pineapple, and creamy coconut milk to create a tropical-flavored smoothie that makes breakfast feel like a vacation. I blend the frozen fruit for a frosty and velvety drink that takes just 5 minutes to make.

Notes

  • My #1 Secret Tip for this mango pineapple banana smoothie recipe is to always add the liquids first. When placing my ingredients in the blender, I follow a specific order so that it blends easily. I start with the coconut milk, then add the frozen fruit, and finish with the fresh banana. The liquid provides a medium for the other fruits to blend without becoming too thick.
  • Scrape down sides: For a really smooth drink, I blend for a bit longer than usual, and stop to scrape down the sides halfway through.
  • Freeze flat: I like cutting my fruit into thin strips and freezing them in single flat layers. This way, I do not end up with large clumps of frozen fruit that have fused. These are a lot harder to blend.
  • Adjust thickness: If the smoothie is too thick, I add coconut milk 1 tablespoon at a time while blending until it reaches my desired consistency. If the smoothie is too thin, I add in more frozen fruit. I never thicken with ice as this waters down the flavors.
  • Taste: Sometimes fruits are not as sweet as you may expect them to be. If this is the case, I adjust the sweetness with a touch of maple syrup or honey. If the fruits are overly sweet, I like adding a squeeze of fresh lime juice to the smoothie. It undercuts the sweetness while complementing the tropical flavor.
