Ingredients

  • tsp matcha powder (you will not be able to taste the matcha, it just adds color naturally)
  • 36 oz cream soda (try a no-sugar variety to reduce the calories and sugar in this recipe)
  • 12 oz vodka
  • dry ice optional, for a "spooky" effect

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add every ingredient. Whisk well to make sure that the matcha powder is well incorporated. If there are some clumps after whisking well, you can remove the clumps with a spoon. Note: If using green food coloring, add 2 drops at a time, then mix well. Continue adding drops, then whisking, until desired color has been reached.
  • Transfer the drink to a pitcher, punch bowl, or glasses. If serving in a pitcher, add a few cubes of dry ice. If serving in glasses, add 1 (1 inch) cube of dry ice per glass, and serve your spooky beverage.

Notes

  • My #1 Secret Tip for this Witches brew cocktail is to always stir. While some cocktails are meant to be shaken, I recommend leaving the cocktail shaker in the cabinet for this one. Since the soda is carbonated, shaking it up could cause a big mess!
  • Upgrade these fun cocktails. For some extra Halloween fun, I add some ice cubes that are shaped like various Halloween shapes. They are an inexpensive and easy way to level up this recipe for witches brew cocktail punch.
  • Include the healthy part. The matcha powder is a healthy ingredient that enhances the color. It doesn’t affect the flavor of this witches brew drink for Halloween at all, thanks to the sweetness of the cream soda.
  • Serve immediately. The best way to enjoy this alcoholic green potion is as soon as it's mixed. The cream soda is carbonated and will go flat the longer it sits.
  • Exercise caution with dry ice. Dry ice cocktails are fun, but can be dangerous to prepare. Be very careful when handling and storing dry ice and do not touch it with your bare hands. I recommend storing the dry ice in a well-ventilated space or outdoors, away from kids and pets, and never ever eat or drink the dry ice. It can burn you if consumed.
