Banana Popsicles

Every time my kids crave something sweet, I make these homemade banana popsicles with ripe bananas, oat milk, and Greek yogurt. With only a handful of ingredients and about 10 minutes of prep time, I can have a creamy, healthy, naturally gluten-free treat ready for the freezer. I love how satisfying and simple they are, making them perfect for a quick snack or a light dessert.

Notes

  • My #1 Secret Tip for this recipe is to use very ripe bananas and blend the mixture until completely smooth before freezing. Ripe bananas add natural sweetness and creaminess, and thorough blending prevents an icy texture so the popsicles freeze smoothly and evenly every time.
  • Banana Prep: I always slice the bananas before blending so they break down faster and blend more evenly. This helps create a smooth mixture without chunks.
  • Sweetness Check: I taste the mixture before freezing to check the sweetness level. If the bananas are less ripe, I add a small amount of maple syrup to balance the flavor.
  • Air Bubble Control: I tap the filled molds gently on the counter to release air bubbles. This helps the popsicles freeze evenly and look smoother once removed.
  • Flat Freezing: I make sure the molds sit flat in the freezer so the popsicles freeze straight. This prevents uneven shapes and makes them easier to remove.
  • Full Freeze Time: I freeze the popsicles overnight whenever possible. Giving them enough time to fully set improves texture and keeps them firm when serving.
