Vegan S'mores

My vegan s’mores recipe is made with fluffy vegan marshmallows and dark chocolate, sandwiched between sweet graham crackers. I've included instructions for the stovetop, oven, and grill, making it perfect for both indoor and outdoor cooking. This s’mores recipe is easy to make and the perfect vegan-friendly and cozy treat.

Instructions

Microwave

  • Top one graham cracker with one large marshmallow and chocolate. Microwave on high for 15 seconds or until the marshmallow expands or puffs up.
  • Top with the second graham cracker.

Over Stovetop or Fire

  • Break the chocolate bar into smaller squares. Set aside. Place vegan marshmallow on skewer and roast over the campfire or low flame on the stovetop.
  • Carefully, with the skewer, place the cooked marshmallow on top of one graham cracker and place the chocolate on top of the marshmallow. Place another graham cracker on top of the chocolate and slide the skewer out. Basically, you're making a sandwich!

Notes

  • Safety: Always use caution when roasting marshmallows over an open fire or gas stove top. Remember, oven broilers should never be left unattended.
  • Toasting marshmallows: I like my marshmallows to be crisp on the outside, but gooey and warm on the inside. I’ve found that medium to low heat is ideal to ensure the marshmallows melt evenly without burning. For crispier more charred marshmallows, roast for 2-3 minutes longer.
  • Get the right equipment: Having the right tools for s’mores is essential. I keep skewers or roasting sticks for toasting marshmallows!
  • Assemble quickly: Once the marshmallows are roasted, I work quickly to assemble the s'mores, so the marshmallow and chocolate can ooze together for the perfect bite.
