Ingredients

  • 2 Small French baguettes or 1 loaf of fresh whole wheat bread
  • 2 tbsp Vegan butter
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley or herbs for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350ºF or 180ºC.
  • Cut the baguette or bread in halves.
  • In a small bowl mix the butter, minced garlic and chopped parsley until combined.
  • Spread the garlic butter over the baguette halves until evenly covered.
  • Place the garlic bread in the air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes until golden brown on top.
  • Remove the garlic from the air fryer and let it cool down for minutes or two. Slice into pieces and top with fresh herbs.

Notes

  • If you prefer your garlic bread on the softer side, make sure to start with soft, fluffy bread like a fresh baguette. You can never go wrong with fresh bakery bread! Then, you can cook it for slightly less time if needed. I recommend checking it after 6-8 minutes in the air fryer to see if it’s been cooked to your liking.
  • If you like your garlic bread with crispier crust, add an additional minute or two to the cook time or use a crusty bread like ciabatta bread or sourdough bread for crispy vegan garlic bread. Whatever you do, avoid using stale bread!
  • Worried about soggy bread? A good option for avoiding this is to spread a thin layer of garlic butter onto your bread, making sure to evenly coat it all the way to the edges.
  • For the best results, try to avoid refrigerating your bread if you can help it. Garlic bread will stay the freshest when stored on the counter and can dry out quickly in the fridge.
  • Don’t have any vegan butter at home? You can swap it out for olive oil instead and form a delicious olive oil mixture with garlic and herbs.
  • To brighten up this vegan garlic toast, try topping it off with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or a sprinkle of lemon zest just before serving it.
