To cook dried lentils, you’ll use a ratio of 1 cup lentils to 3 cups of water and simply bring everything to a boil.

Cook The Lentils If Not Using Canned/Prepared:

Dice garlic cloves, onion and carrot into very small pieces. Chop the shallot and set that aside.

Chop The Veggies & Cook:

Add the chopped shallot to the cooked veggies. Cook for two more minutes stirring frequently.

Add The Shallot:

Mix the ground flaxseed and water in a small bowl and let sit at room temperature for at least 5 minutes.

Make The Flaxseed Egg:

Using an immersion blender, process the vegetables until they form a smooth paste. Then add the walnuts and blend again.
