Ingredients

Blend black beans, “beef” broth, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, spices, salt & seasoning until smooth.

Add vital wheat gluten to the blended mixture & pulse until a dough forms. Do not overwork it.

Form A Dough

Place the dough log in a baking dish, pour the remaining broth over it, & cover with foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

Once cooled, cut into thin slices. This will become your vegan cheesesteak meat!

Heat the olive oil in a large pan on medium-high heat. Saute the onions & green pepper until soft.

Add the sliced seitan beef, maple syrup & soy sauce to the pan. Stir through, & reduce to low heat.

Pan-Fry The Seitan

Top your vegan meat with slices of vegan cheese. Cover the skillet with a lid for about 4 mins to melt the cheese!

Dredge in Breadcrumbs

It’s chow time! Serve the cheesesteak, caramelized onions & peppers inside a fresh, whole wheat or hoagie roll.
