Blend black beans, “beef” broth, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, spices, salt & seasoning until smooth.
Add vital wheat gluten to the blended mixture & pulse until a dough forms. Do not overwork it.
Place the dough log in a baking dish, pour the remaining broth over it, & cover with foil. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.
Once cooled, cut into thin slices. This will become your vegan cheesesteak meat!
Heat the olive oil in a large pan on medium-high heat. Saute the onions & green pepper until soft.
It’s chow time! Serve the cheesesteak, caramelized onions & peppers inside a fresh, whole wheat or hoagie roll.
