Gooey fontina cheese, savory gorgonzola cheese, fresh sweet pears, and crunchy walnuts all on top of a perfectly crispy whole-wheat pizza crust makes for a mind-blowing delicious meal! It’s easy to make and filling too, so I know your family will love it!
Simple Ingredients: This homemade pizza with gorgonzola and pears is made with the simplest ingredients and each ingredient stands out with every bite!
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F / 230 C. Spread out your dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Lightly brush 1 teaspoon of good olive oil on the dough.
If your fontina cheese did not come grated or shredded, go ahead and grate it on the coarse side of a cheese grater and set aside in a small bowl.
Choose a nice ripe pear or two and wash them. Slice off the stem at the top of the pear. Thinly slice the pear, avoiding the seeds at the center.
If your walnuts are not already chopped, just give them a rough chop so they’re in pieces about the size of a sweet pea.
Sprinkle on the fontina cheese and pear slices. You can arrange the pear slices in a spiral design or just throw them on, but make sure there’s a little room between each one so the cheese can bubble up around them.
