Simple Ingredients: This homemade pizza with gorgonzola and pears is made with the simplest ingredients and each ingredient stands out with every bite!

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F / 230 C. Spread out your dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Lightly brush 1 teaspoon of good olive oil on the dough.

PREHEAT THE OVEN AND PREPARE THE DOUGH:

If your fontina cheese did not come grated or shredded, go ahead and grate it on the coarse side of a cheese grater and set aside in a small bowl.

PREPARE THE FONTINA CHEESE:

Choose a nice ripe pear or two and wash them. Slice off the stem at the top of the pear. Thinly slice the pear, avoiding the seeds at the center.

CUT THE PEAR:

If your walnuts are not already chopped, just give them a rough chop so they’re in pieces about the size of a sweet pea.

CHOP THE WALNUTS:

Sprinkle on the fontina cheese and pear slices. You can arrange the pear slices in a spiral design or just throw them on, but make sure there’s a little room between each one so the cheese can bubble up around them.
