Preheat oven to 400 F. Grease a small loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, beat together the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, applesauce, and oil until smooth and well combined.

In a separate large mixing bowl, sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Beat until mixed well. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf, comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes.

Sifting the dry ingredients together will result in a lighter and fluffier crumb, as well as ensure that the baking powder, baking soda, and spices are evenly distributed throughout.
