Healthy Black Bean Quinoa Burgers

INGREDIENTS

PREP THE AROMATICS:

Heat a grill or grill pan over medium-low heat. Meanwhile, in a food processor, pulse onion and garlic until finely chopped.

MAKE BLACK BEAN MIXTURE:

Add a portion of the black beans, cilantro, parsley, egg, and red pepper flakes and pulse to combine.

ADD REMAINING INGREDIENTS:

Transfer the black bean mixture to a large bowl, and add the remaining can of black beans, quinoa, and bread crumbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix until a pasty mixture forms.

FORM BLACK BEAN PATTIES:

Divide mixture into 6 portions and form patties.

COOK THE BURGERS:

Place burger patties on a hot oiled grill over medium heat and cook about 6 minutes a side or until heated through.
