An eco-friendly, double weekend giveaway!

Hi Everyone! I hope you’re all having a great weekend. Today I thought it would be fun to launch my first giveaway of the new year, which just happens to be a double giveaway! But first, I’d like to say congrats to Kim, who won my CORE Foods giveaway:

Congratulations!! The folks at CORE Foods should be contacting you soon to send you the bars you’ve won. I know you’ll love them as much as I did! To everyone who entered – I have a little surprise for you ๐Ÿ™‚ CORE Foods has offered to provide a special discount code just for readers of The Picky Eater! If you’re interested, just email me at, and I will send you the code.

And now, all of you have a chance to win in this week’s DOUBLE giveaway which includes:

One free bamboo bottleย – an eco-friendly, portable beverage container, and a copy of Healthy Eating, Healthy World!

So what makes these two products special? Let’s start with Bamboo Bottle. Theseย re-useable bottles work for any hot or cold drink, are durable and sustainable. Theyโ€™re actually made from glass, renewable bamboo, and BPA-free plastic. And they are dishwasher safe!

I love the mission of this company – and their bottles are super cute too. Why do they use bamboo? Because it’s renewable:ย in the time most people run a 5K, a bamboo shoot can grow an inch. In the time it takes to hike up and down a 4000-footer, it can grow a foot. And bamboo has a higher tensile strength than many alloys of steel. These bottles are slightly heavier than your average bottle, but it’s a small price to pay for a product that doesn’t hurt the environment.

Speaking of helping the environment, Healthy Eating, Healthy World explains how plant-based nutrition is the key to saving your health AND the planet.

In this book, author J. Morris Hicks demonstrates how a plant-based diet can promote health, reduce obesity, lower the cost of health care, nurture our fragile environment, conserve our energy resources, feed the world’s growing population, and greatly reduce the suffering of animals in factory farms all over the world. Hicks breaks down the problems very clearly and provides an easy plan to move towards eating a healthier diet.

And now, one lucky reader will win a bamboo bottle and a copy of this book as part of this giveaway!

Now, the important part โ€“ To Enter:ย You can enter in one of three ways –

  1. Subscribe to The Picky Eater viaย RSSย or viaย email

Thenย post a comment here letting me know which option above you chose.ย If you already are a subscriber, follower, or like The Picky Eater on Facebook, just leave a comment indicating that โ€“ it will count as one entry.

  1. Thank you for the chance to win follow you on twitter~ the book would be awesome on my journey to keep my family healthy!

  2. already an (email) subscriber! the bottle looks super cool! would be fun to be the ‘first on my block’ to try it! I also think the book looks great… thanks for featuring it!

  3. I am already an e-mail subscriber and would love to win the bottle. I really don’t like the plastic bottle that I have right now and can tell by the way it smells that it can’t be healthy to use it every day at work. I would love to have a sustainable and healthy alternative. Of course, I am interested in the book as well.
